The Greater Milford Community Health Network, also known as CHNA 6, is looking to support emergency food and toiletry programs in the region in order to ensure that everyone who needs access to these resources are able to receive it.

Based on successful models in other regions, we have created a monthly calendar that can be widely shared with the community so everyone can know about all the amazing resources that are available to them. This will also help us identify any gaps, that we as community, could work together to address!

  • For link click here. We also have a downloaded QR code that you can easily use and share (download available below).
  • If you would like to see an additional resource on the calendar, please email coordinator@chna6.org
  • Google Chrome allows you to access the calendar in all languages! In order to do this, you must download a Google Chrome Extension called “Google Translate”. For more information, click here

Updates:

Final CHNA 6 Meeting of the Season: Thank you to everyone from CHNA 6 who joined us on May 15th at Memorial Hall in Milford for such an important and meaningful conversation on homelessness.

A special thank you to our incredible panelists, Christine O’Connell, Leslie Reichert, Jenna Gouin, Nayda Sanchez DeJesus, Kaitlin Donahue, Lori Hout, and Jennifer Knight-Levine for leading a thoughtful discussion rooted in compassion, collaboration, and hope. Together, we explored real ideas for change and community-centered solutions, including:

  • Building a shelter in every town
  • Creating local coalitions made up of diverse community members to help manage homelessness collaboratively
  • Funding transportation to improve access to services and opportunities
  • De-stigmatizing homelessness through personal connection, conversation, and understanding
  • Using mitigation and mediation as tools for prevention
  • Remembering to be human first and to be a neighbor
  • Thinking outside the box with creative ideas like community vending machines stocked with essential goods and agency information — so support is available when individuals are ready to seek help
  • Emphasizing personal agency and meeting people where they are

The conversation reminded us that meaningful progress starts with empathy, partnership, and a willingness to listen. Thank you to everyone who participated and continues to work toward stronger, more compassionate communities. ?

Future Resource Guide: We’re excited to share that, based on feedback gathered during the CHIP process, we will be developing a comprehensive community resource guide for the CHNA 6 region. This guide will bring together resources from agencies and organizations across the area into one accessible place, helping streamline how community members find and connect with support services.

We’d love your help! If your agency already has a resource guide, or if you know of a platform that can help compile resources in one centralized location, please complete this Google Form so we can connect.

CHNA 6 Coordinator Jen Ward and Assistant Coordinator Brianna Rondeau will be leading this project over the summer with support from the Steering Committee.
